Decorated Veteran and Distinguished Surgeon Donald R. May Announces Campaign for Texas Congressional District 19
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 23, 2025
LUBBOCK, TX – Dr. Donald R. May, an Air Force Veteran, retina surgeon, and lifelong Conservative, is officially running to become the next West Texas Congressman.
“West Texans need a bold Conservative fighter who puts God, county, and integrity above politics and personal gain,” said Dr. May. “From our family farms to operating rooms, I have spent my life serving my community and the American people while defending our nation and Judeo-Christian values. Now, I’m ready to fearlessly represent Congressional District 19 in the halls of Congress.”
Dr. Donald R. May is a lifelong Conservative whose values were shaped on his family’s farm, which he and his wife still operate today. A distinguished surgeon and Air Force Veteran, Dr. May has dedicated his life to serving others and defending the principles that make America strong. Dr. May became the first retina surgeon in the United States Air Force and founded the USAF Retina and Ocular Trauma Service at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, treating wounded warriors from around the world and strengthening America’s military medical readiness.
Beyond his medical and military service, Dr. May is well known for his leadership in the Conservative movement. An unapologetic defender of America’s Judeo-Christian foundations, Dr. May’s post-9/11 writings for TownHall.com prompted the American Communist Party to name him the third “most dangerous” Conservative in the nation – right behind President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.
Dr. Donald R. May brings a lifetime of service, conviction, and unwavering bold Conservative leadership, and he’s ready to fight for West Texas and our nation.
The Republican Primary will be held on March 3, 2026.
